  10. TEXTOUT/5 converts WordPerfect 5.0 and 5.1 document files to ASCII.

  12. It improves upon WordPerfect's Text Out command, in both DOS Text and   
  13. generic word processing formats.  TEXTOUT/5 translates the entire       
  14. document, including text, captions and equations from graphics boxes,   
  15. as well as footnotes and endnotes -- all items that WordPerfect         
  16. ignores.  TEXTOUT/5 can mark certain font attributes, such as           
  17. underlining, in the ASCII file by using special characters.  This is    
  18. useful if you want to transfer the ASCII file to another word           
  19. processor and restore the attributes.

  25. CONVDW converts IBM DisplayWrite 3 & 4 document files to ASCII.         
  26.                                                                         
  27. IBM does not publish the file format for DisplayWrite, so CONVDW is one 
  28. of the very few programs that can read DisplayWrite files.  Create      
  29. files that omit the soft returns and retain the tab characters.  This   
  30. format, very useful for importing to another word processor, is not     
  31. available from within DisplayWrite.

  33. CONVDW omits most page-formatting characteristics.  For example, the    
  34. left margin is not expanded to spaces, the top and bottom margins are   
  35. not expanded to blank lines, and page breaks, headers, footers, and     
  36. page numbering are omitted.

  42. TEXTCON allows you to import ASCII files into your word processor       
  43. without having to manually delete carriage returns, remove extra        
  44. spaces, and generally reformat your documents.

  46. Files can be imported with accurate paragraph breaks due to TEXTCON's   
  47. intelligent paragraph recognition algorithms.  No more manual deletion  
  48. of hard returns.  TEXTCON even works with difficult formats, such as    
  49. fully nested, outline style and hanging indents.  TEXTCON also removes  
  50. excess spaces, blank lines, and headers and footers.  TEXTCON can       
  51. accept any form of ASCII file, including those transferred from         
  52. Macintosh or UNIX, as well as WordStar.
